Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Health and Social Care department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student achievement and progression in Health and Social Care.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate cross-curricular themes and support whole-school initiatives.
- Provide professional development opportunities for teaching staff within the department.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to ensure alignment with school objectives.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being and personal growth.
- Stay up to date with developments in Health and Social Care education and incorporate best practices into teaching and learning.
- Represent the department at meetings, conferences, and other events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in Health and Social Care.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or similar role.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in Health and Social Care education.
- Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience in working within a large, diverse school environment.
