Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Design Technology and Engineering across Key Stages 1 to 5.
- Develop students’ technical and soft skills through a hands-on, interdisciplinary curriculum.
- Support pupils in developing confidence, curiosity, and creativity through project-based learning.
- Integrate sustainability and real-world challenges into the curriculum.
- Lead and participate in co-curricular activities, including STEM competitions and industry visits.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inspiring learning experience.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Stay up to date with developments in the field of Design Technology and Engineering.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher or a well-qualified graduate in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in teaching or a strong desire to become a teacher.
- Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and engage students in a dynamic learning environment.
- Strong understanding of the Design Technology and Engineering curriculum and its interdisciplinary nature.
- Commitment to fostering creativity, problem-solving, and sustainability in students.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching Design Technology or Engineering at Key Stages 1 to 5.
- Experience with industry-standard tools and technologies, such as 3D printing, robotics, and CAD software.
- Experience with co-curricular activities, including STEM competitions or industry visits.
- Familiarity with the OCR Design Technology specification and A-level courses.
- Experience in working with diverse groups of students and colleagues.
