Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Design Technology and Engineering across Key Stages 1 to 5.
  • Develop students’ technical and soft skills through a hands-on, interdisciplinary curriculum.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, curiosity, and creativity through project-based learning.
  • Integrate sustainability and real-world challenges into the curriculum.
  • Lead and participate in co-curricular activities, including STEM competitions and industry visits.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inspiring learning experience.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of Design Technology and Engineering.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher or a well-qualified graduate in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in teaching or a strong desire to become a teacher.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons and engage students in a dynamic learning environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Design Technology and Engineering curriculum and its interdisciplinary nature.
  • Commitment to fostering creativity, problem-solving, and sustainability in students.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Design Technology or Engineering at Key Stages 1 to 5.
  • Experience with industry-standard tools and technologies, such as 3D printing, robotics, and CAD software.
  • Experience with co-curricular activities, including STEM competitions or industry visits.
  • Familiarity with the OCR Design Technology specification and A-level courses.
  • Experience in working with diverse groups of students and colleagues.
