The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Learning Support to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities. This role is essential in helping students achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive boarding school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs and disabilities in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to develop and implement individual education plans.
  • Deliver targeted learning support sessions tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide strategies for inclusion and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and support practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a boarding school environment.
  • Familiarity with the Catholic educational tradition.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
