The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary leader to head the Computing and Business Studies Department and drive its development. This role offers the opportunity to shape a future-focused curriculum and inspire students in the rapidly evolving fields of IT and Business Studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a coherent and ambitious curriculum in Computing and Business Studies.
  • Teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including GCSE Computing and Level 3 BTEC qualifications.
  • Provide strategic leadership and support to colleagues within the department.
  • Collaborate with other faculty leaders to enhance digital literacy across the school.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
  • Promote curriculum innovation and raise attainment across all key stages.
  • Support the school’s whole-school priorities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth and high expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a department within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computing and Business Studies.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a strategic curriculum.
  • Commitment to raising student attainment and preparing them for further study and employment.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum innovation and digital technologies.
  • Background in leadership and team development.
  • Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and GCSE Computing.
  • Experience in promoting inclusivity and diversity in education.
