As the Head of Computing & Digital Technologies, you will lead and shape a dynamic and forward-thinking department. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Computing & Digital Technologies department.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with sector developments and local, regional, and national skills priorities.
- Ensure consistently strong outcomes, positive destinations, and aspirational futures for all learners.
- Lead and support a team of dedicated subject specialists to deliver sustained improvement and change.
- Collaborate with external partners and employers to shape an agile curriculum that meets industry needs.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality teaching.
- Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the College as a member of the College Management Team.
- Ensure effective engagement with the Ministry of Defence’s Cyber Bursary Scheme and CyberFirst initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably in computing or digital technologies.
- Strong track record in delivering high-quality, learner-centred teaching and leading teams to improvement.
- Experience in curriculum development and strategic planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Preferred
- Subject specialist knowledge in computing and digital technologies.
- Experience with T Levels, vocational courses, and adult education.
- Experience in working with local employers and industry partners.
- Familiarity with the Ministry of Defence’s Cyber Bursary Scheme and CyberFirst initiatives.
