The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate A Level Classical Civilisation Course Leader to join our dedicated team. This role involves leading and teaching across the A Level programme, including key modules such as World of the Hero, Imperial Image, and Greek Religion. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the learning experience of students and delivering high-quality education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver the A Level Classical Civilisation programme across multiple modules.
- Design and implement creative, engaging, and impactful lessons.
- Support and mentor students to achieve outstanding academic results.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the School of English, Languages and Classics.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and industry trends.
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall academic and pastoral support of students.
- Ensure a student-centred approach to learning and teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in a relevant subject area.
- Proven experience in teaching Classical Civilisation or related subjects at KS5.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to student welfare and development.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching the Imperial Image module or the ability to plan and design it.
- Familiarity with the Classical Association and its activities.
- Experience in curriculum design and development.
- Knowledge of teaching English as a Second Language.
