Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Graphics.
  • Set and mark work in accordance with the school’s assessment policy, ensuring accurate recording of student progress.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting positive behaviour and attendance.
  • Develop strong relationships with students and colleagues to enhance the learning experience.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department to support the administration of teaching and learning.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, including team and full staff meetings.
  • Teach in other departments where required, supporting a flexible and collaborative approach.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and students, including attendance at consultation and open evenings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards obtaining a teaching qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and inspire students in a classroom setting.
  • Commitment to a student-centred approach to learning.
  • Awareness of current developments in the field of Graphics.
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills.
  • Understanding of the Catholic ethos and commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Graphics or related subjects.
  • Experience with Edexcel qualifications and assessment methods.
  • Experience in delivering A-Level Graphics Design courses.
  • Ability to manage large classes and support student progress effectively.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
