Health and Social Care Teacher needed for a fixed-term role starting August 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons to achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Set and mark work in line with college and departmental assessment policies.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to students, ensuring positive behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding.
  • Develop strong rapport with students to enhance the learning experience.
  • Liaise with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning administration.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and other relevant events.
  • Teach in other departments where required.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant degree and teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage learning effectively with a student-centred approach.
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills.
  • Commitment to the Catholic ethos and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching Health and Social Care or Early Years.
  • Familiarity with BTEC, T-Level, or other vocational qualifications.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Knowledge of current developments in the subject area.
