The Opportunity:
As the Director of Maths, you will lead and inspire a successful team of professionals, driving excellence in mathematics education and raising student outcomes. This role offers the chance to shape learning and make a lasting impact on students’ academic journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing maths department, ensuring outstanding teaching and learning.
- Monitor and raise student achievement across all key stages, including A Level and IB.
- Collaborate with the wider Trust to share best practice and enhance maths provision.
- Support and mentor staff to develop their professional practice and leadership skills.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align maths strategy with the school’s overall vision.
- Engage with students to foster a passion for mathematics and a love of learning.
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Ensure effective use of resources and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, ideally in maths.
- A strong track record of improving student outcomes and raising standards.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for maths education.
- Experience in leading and managing a teaching team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with teaching at Key Stage 3, 4, and Post 16.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Experience in teacher training or professional development.
