Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Geography department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential through engaging and innovative lessons.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align departmental goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Support and mentor Geography teachers to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous professional development within the department.
  • Implement and monitor assessment strategies to ensure consistent academic progress.
  • Encourage student participation in Geography-related extracurricular activities and events.
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects current educational standards and promotes a love of learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography education.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Geography.
  • Ability to develop and deliver high-quality lessons and assessments.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting teaching staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle or senior management within education.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Background in curriculum development or educational leadership.
