Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Drama department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum aligned with the school’s values.
  • Support and mentor other Drama teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Represent the school at external events, competitions, and community activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-subject learning opportunities.
  • Promote the performing arts within the school and wider community.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of school facilities and resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Drama or related subject.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Drama pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Background in drama production or performance.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Familiarity with the SEARCH Education Trust values.
