Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a strong, engaging drama curriculum for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Deliver and oversee a programme of high-quality productions and performances.
- Inspire and support students to develop their creativity, confidence, and self-expression.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s creative and co-curricular offer.
- Manage and mentor a team of drama teachers and support staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in drama.
- Ensure the department maintains high standards of teaching and learning.
- Promote drama both within and beyond the classroom through enrichment activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a drama department at a secondary school level.
- Strong teaching experience in drama at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Excellent knowledge of drama curricula and assessment practices.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and leading a successful drama department.
- Experience with theatre production and performance.
- Experience in curriculum development and enrichment programme design.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations.
