Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Psychology Department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver engaging and effective A Level Psychology lessons to a motivated cohort of students.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic curriculum that reflects current research and best practice.
  • Support and mentor junior staff within the department to enhance teaching standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote cross-curricular learning and enrichment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with parents and the wider school community.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the school’s academic vision and priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching A Level Psychology.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in leading a department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve outstanding student results.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a successful Psychology Department with a strong academic record.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in educational psychology.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support strategies.
