The Opportunity:
The Head of Design and Technology will lead a dynamic department, shaping the curriculum and inspiring students aged 8-13. This role is ideal for a passionate educator looking to make a lasting impact on student learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Design, Technology & Engineering curriculum for students aged 8-13.
- Collaborate with subject leaders to ensure continuity of provision across all year groups.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that align with the school’s mission and values.
- Manage and support a team of teachers within the department.
- Promote innovation and creativity in the classroom and beyond.
- Work closely with the Deputy Head (Academic) to ensure alignment with school-wide goals.
- Participate in the school’s enrichment programmes, such as Dragon QUEST.
- Support the school’s commitment to community engagement and giving back.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience teaching in an independent or maintained sector.
- Experience teaching children aged 8-13.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Relevant degree or qualification in a related field.
- Commitment to academic excellence and student development.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Background in Design, Technology, or Engineering.
- Experience with cross-curricular and enrichment activities.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
