The Opportunity:

As the Head of Football, you will lead and develop the school's football programme across both the Junior and Senior schools, helping to establish the school as a key player in the sport. This role offers a unique chance to shape the future of a dynamic and growing programme, while contributing to the broader PE and sports curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the football programme across both the Junior and Senior schools.
  • Manage and coordinate coaching and teaching responsibilities within the PE department.
  • Deliver high-quality coaching and instruction in football and other seasonal sports such as Athletics and Cricket.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, discipline, and excellence in sport.
  • Work closely with other members of the PE department to enhance the overall sports offering.
  • Support the development of student athletes at all levels, including those competing at county and national levels.
  • Ensure the programme aligns with the school’s values and educational mission.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the football programme and make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in school football coaching at both Junior and Senior levels.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to develop and lead a sports programme.
  • Qualified and experienced in teaching PE within a school setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Commitment to the school's mission and values, including a focus on personal development and academic excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a large and dynamic sports department.
  • Knowledge of sports development and coaching methodologies.
  • Experience with competitive sports at county or national level.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) standards and processes.
