The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sixth Form, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational and personal development of KS5 students. You will lead the vision for the Sixth Form, ensuring alignment with the school's improvement plan and fostering a positive, inclusive environment that supports student achievement and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the entry of Sixth Form students during morning and lunchtime sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with the dress code and maintain the appearance of the Sixth Form Block.
  • Communicate a clear and positive vision for the Sixth Form to students, staff, and parents.
  • Support Form Tutors in delivering the vision within the classroom.
  • Contribute to the development of a whole school vision and improvement plan.
  • Lead by example in all aspects of school life and attend after-school events.
  • Promote a culture of achievement, effort, and personal development across the Sixth Form.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of KS5 curriculum and student development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of staff and students.
  • Experience in school improvement planning and strategic development.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a Sixth Form or similar department.
  • Background in pastoral care or student welfare.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and support for diverse learners.
  • Experience in organizing and managing extracurricular activities.
