The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Performing Arts Faculty to lead and develop the Performing Arts provision across Art, Drama, and Music. This is a strategic role that offers the opportunity to shape curriculum and outcomes for students, while working within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Performing Arts faculty across Art, Drama, and Music.
  • Shape the vision, curriculum, and outcomes for the faculty in line with school priorities.
  • Support and develop teaching and learning across the Performing Arts department.
  • Collaborate with the Extended Leadership Team to drive school-wide improvements.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in Performing Arts.
  • Promote a culture of excellence and inclusion within the faculty.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff within the Performing Arts department.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and external partners to enhance the Performing Arts experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading and developing a Performing Arts faculty.
  • Strong track record in high-quality teaching and learning in Music, Art, or Drama.
  • Experience in curriculum design and delivery within a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a focus on evidence-informed teaching.
  • Background in instructional coaching or professional development.
  • Experience with behaviour management and student support systems.
  • Music specialist background.
