Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Food and Catering curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards.
  • Inspire and motivate both students and colleagues through creative, engaging teaching.
  • Manage and support a dedicated team of staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate with other departments to integrate practical and theoretical learning experiences.
  • Promote the department's courses to maintain strong student interest and participation.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of the purpose-built cooking facilities.
  • Support the school’s mission by embedding values such as teamwork, respect, and personal development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in an education setting, preferably in Food and Catering.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Passion for teaching and the impact it has on students’ lives.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in the subject area.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering GCSE-level courses in Food Preparation & Nutrition or Hospitality and Catering.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard practices in food and catering.
  • Experience with ECTs or early-career teachers.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
