Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Food and Catering curriculum to ensure it meets the highest standards.
- Inspire and motivate both students and colleagues through creative, engaging teaching.
- Manage and support a dedicated team of staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Coordinate with other departments to integrate practical and theoretical learning experiences.
- Promote the department's courses to maintain strong student interest and participation.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of the purpose-built cooking facilities.
- Support the school’s mission by embedding values such as teamwork, respect, and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an education setting, preferably in Food and Catering.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for teaching and the impact it has on students’ lives.
- Relevant teaching qualifications and experience in the subject area.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering GCSE-level courses in Food Preparation & Nutrition or Hospitality and Catering.
- Familiarity with industry-standard practices in food and catering.
- Experience with ECTs or early-career teachers.
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
