Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Design Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with current educational standards.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and student engagement.
  • Represent the department at staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school events.
  • Support the professional development of teaching staff within the department.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Promote the value of Design Technology through extracurricular activities and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Design Technology curriculum and teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and vision.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with industry-standard design software and tools.
  • Experience in leading successful extracurricular programs.
  • Knowledge of STEM integration in the classroom.
