The Opportunity:
As the Head of Design Technology, you will lead and inspire students to achieve excellence in the subject. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Design Technology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, inclusive, and aligned with current educational standards.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and student engagement.
- Represent the department at staff meetings, parent evenings, and other school events.
- Support the professional development of teaching staff within the department.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
- Promote the value of Design Technology through extracurricular activities and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
- Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of Design Technology curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers and support staff.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and vision.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Experience with industry-standard design software and tools.
- Experience in leading successful extracurricular programs.
- Knowledge of STEM integration in the classroom.
