Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
  • Monitor and support student progress, raising standards of attainment across the subject area.
  • Develop and enhance the teaching practice of others through mentoring and professional development.
  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum aligned with the school’s aims and policies.
  • Manage resources, staff, and budgets effectively to support departmental goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.
  • Promote innovation in teaching methods to inspire and engage students.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school’s wider vision.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or curriculum area
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or curriculum delivery
  • Background in Food Technology or related fields
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections or school improvement initiatives
