The Opportunity:
As Head of Food Technology, you will lead and inspire students in a dynamic and innovative learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Food Technology department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
- Monitor and support student progress, raising standards of attainment across the subject area.
- Develop and enhance the teaching practice of others through mentoring and professional development.
- Deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum aligned with the school’s aims and policies.
- Manage resources, staff, and budgets effectively to support departmental goals.
- Foster strong relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.
- Promote innovation in teaching methods to inspire and engage students.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to the school’s wider vision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Consistently outstanding teaching standards
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Enthusiasm for Food Technology and the ability to inspire students
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
- Willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or curriculum area
- Experience with innovative teaching methods or curriculum delivery
- Background in Food Technology or related fields
- Experience with Ofsted inspections or school improvement initiatives
