The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Second in Faculty to join our thriving Mathematics department. This role offers the opportunity to lead, manage, and develop Mathematics across the curriculum, while supporting the Head of Faculty and driving student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty and deputise when required.
  • Raise standards of student attainment and achievement in KS3 and KS4.
  • Monitor and support student progress across the faculty.
  • Develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.
  • Ensure a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum is delivered.
  • Lead, manage, and develop Mathematics across the curriculum.
  • Manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial, and physical resources effectively.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A consistently outstanding teaching standard.
  • A track record of high value added scores with respect to student progress.
  • Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students.
  • Strong self-management and organisational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for teaching Mathematics.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum and awareness of KS3 and KS4 changes.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Ability to command the respect of staff and students.
  • Willingness to take part in extra-curricular activities.
  • Excellent ICT skills to aid curriculum delivery.
  • Desire to explore innovative methods of teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role.
  • Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
  • Leadership potential with a desire to become a Head of Faculty in the future.
