The Opportunity:

As the Head of Foundation Stage 2, you will lead and inspire a team dedicated to delivering high-quality early years education. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving learning outcomes, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for students, and fostering strong relationships with parents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiating and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ensuring consistent standards and expectations for learning and teaching.
  • Promoting innovative and high-quality practices across all areas of learning and development.
  • Creating a culture of motivation and inspiration within the team.
  • Holding teachers accountable for student attainment and progress.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to ensure effective Monitoring, Evaluation, and Review (MER) processes.
  • Planning and reporting on the MER cycle and developing action plans aligned with the school’s development goals.
  • Providing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Setting and monitoring performance targets for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitating core intervention groups to support focus learners and improve outcomes.
  • Leading parent engagement initiatives and events to build strong community relationships.
  • Managing transitions between lessons, breaks, and across the school year.
  • Supporting the line management of teachers and teaching assistants in the year group.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the school and its community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A BEd or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in teaching primary level, specifically EYFS.
  • Strong commitment to the school’s core values of integrity, empathy, and fortitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A track record of delivering outstanding learning and teaching.
  • Willingness to collaborate and share best practices.
  • A growth mindset with a focus on reflection and problem-solving.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and managing a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and International Baccalaureate frameworks.
  • Experience in organizing and delivering parent engagement programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and improve student attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
