The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Music Department, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision and curriculum standards.
  • Develop and implement a high-quality music curriculum that fosters student engagement and achievement.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of music educators, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
  • Coordinate and oversee extracurricular music activities, including ensembles, performances, and competitions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate music across the curriculum and support student development.
  • Ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning experiences aligned with international standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Stay current with global educational trends and best practices in music education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching Secondary A Level Music.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing a team of educators.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s core values of integrity, empathy, and fortitude.
  • A growth mindset and a reflective, solution-focused approach to teaching and learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as the IB or National Curriculum of England.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in music education.
  • Involvement in extracurricular music programs and community events.
  • Familiarity with collaborative teaching and cross-curricular integration.
