Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging Geography curriculum aligned with school vision.
  • Support and mentor Geography teachers to enhance subject knowledge and pedagogy.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate Geography into cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and student aspiration within the subject.
  • Organize and lead extracurricular Geography activities and events.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide strategic goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong leadership and management experience in a school setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of leading a department or team.
  • Knowledge of Geography at Key Stage 5 (A-level).
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and systems.
