Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and deliver a dynamic and engaging Geography curriculum aligned with school vision.
- Support and mentor Geography teachers to enhance subject knowledge and pedagogy.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure consistent improvement and achievement.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate Geography into cross-curricular initiatives.
- Promote a culture of high expectations and student aspiration within the subject.
- Organize and lead extracurricular Geography activities and events.
- Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Geography at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong leadership and management experience in a school setting.
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning outcomes.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience of leading a department or team.
- Knowledge of Geography at Key Stage 5 (A-level).
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and systems.
