Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with school values and educational goals.
- Support and manage departmental staff, including performance reviews and professional development.
- Monitor and track student progress, ensuring academic excellence and personal growth.
- Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
- Organise and lead field trips that enhance student engagement and learning.
- Foster a culture of independent learning and academic excellence among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school on whole-school initiatives and events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Geography at both GCSE and A Level.
- Leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong organisational and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to the school’s values and ethos.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental leadership.
- Background in pastoral care or student support.
- Experience with fieldwork and outdoor learning.
