Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PE curriculum that aligns with the school’s values and educational goals.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of PE staff, providing guidance and support for continuous professional development.
- Coordinate extracurricular sports activities, including fixtures, competitions, and after-school clubs.
- Promote physical education and healthy lifestyles across the school community through events and initiatives.
- Work closely with other departments to integrate PE with wider school activities and pastoral care.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in all PE-related activities.
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusion by ensuring all students have access to PE opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in leading a PE department.
- Proven track record in teaching and developing PE programmes at secondary level.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to student development and inclusion in PE.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching or managing sports teams or extracurricular activities.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in PE and physical education.
- Experience with sports leadership or school-wide initiatives related to health and wellbeing.
