Summary:

Head of HR sought to lead talent strategy at a multi-academy trust.

The Opportunity:

As Head of HR, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering human resources strategies that support a group of 13 schools across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. This is a chance to influence talent development, employee engagement, and organisational growth within a dynamic and values-driven education trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the HR function across a multi-academy trust, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and values.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support recruitment, retention, and professional development of staff.
  • Provide expert guidance on employment law, staff relations, and performance management.
  • Oversee the delivery of training and development programmes across the trust.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and DBS requirements for all post-holders.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement in HR practices.
  • Support the creation of a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
  • Monitor and report on HR metrics to ensure strategic objectives are met.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role within the education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing HR functions across multiple sites or organisations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in multi-academy trusts or similar educational organisations.
  • Background in developing and implementing staff development and training programmes.
  • Experience with HRIS or other HR management systems.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
