The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Science Technician to support the Science Learning Area in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for students and staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality science education and supporting the school's mission to raise attainment across all ability ranges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support science staff in the preparation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and resources.
  • Ensure all laboratory areas are safe, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the storage, organisation, and distribution of scientific materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement practical science activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock and usage of laboratory resources.
  • Provide technical support during science lessons and extracurricular activities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science Learning Area through innovation and best practices.
  • Support the implementation of the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience working in a science laboratory or related environment.
  • Experience of working with children in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of science curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Experience with health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on the H3 grade (£9,251 - £9,389) pro rata.
