Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons to students across multiple year groups.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student achievement and progression.
  • Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental planning.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and carers.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching mathematics at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire student interest in mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching across a range of ability levels.
  • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a department.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and student wellbeing.
