The Opportunity:

As the Head of Human Resources, you will be responsible for leading and managing the HR function across the school and its associated day care services. This role is integral to supporting the school's mission and ensuring a positive and inclusive working environment. The successful candidate will be a key member of the School Management Team and will contribute to the overall success of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the HR department, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide high-quality advisory and support services to staff and management across the school and day care services.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the school's vision and values.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents.
  • Support the school’s culture and ethos by contributing to wider school activities and initiatives.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
  • Ensure that all HR processes, including performance management and employee relations, are carried out effectively.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in managing a multi-site HR function.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or independent educational institution.
  • Familiarity with the co-curricular and pastoral care aspects of school life.
  • Experience in supporting staff development and training initiatives.
  • Knowledge of initial teacher training processes and support for unqualified teachers.
