The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and qualified Head of Learning Support to lead a thriving and well-resourced department. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs and will contribute positively to the co-curricular life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Learning Support department to ensure high standards of support for students.
- Assess and advise on access arrangements for examinations, including Level 7 qualifications.
- Develop and implement strategies to support students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure effective and inclusive teaching practices.
- Provide professional development opportunities for support staff within the department.
- Contribute to the co-curricular programme and school events throughout the academic year.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of learning support interventions.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified to Level 7 for assessing access arrangements.
- Proven leadership experience in a Learning Support or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting with a strong co-curricular programme.
- Experience with a range of learning support strategies and interventions.
- Background in working with students across a wide age range (3–18).
- Familiarity with independent school systems and expectations.
