The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Social Sciences lessons that engage and challenge students across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that support student achievement and progression.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous professional development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the Social Sciences curriculum and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral care when appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Social Sciences.
  • Experience teaching at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and personal development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that promote student engagement.
  • Experience with CPD and a willingness to take on leadership or mentoring roles.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with the latest developments in Social Sciences education.
