The Opportunity:
As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a dynamic department and drive high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will shape the strategic direction of the department and foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the Mathematics team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the British Curriculum.
- Develop and implement effective curriculum design, ensuring progression and alignment with examination requirements.
- Support and coach staff to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and professional practice.
- Monitor and track student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Promote analytical thinking and problem-solving skills through engaging, concept-driven teaching.
- Embed the school’s values and routines across the department, supporting the academic and pastoral well-being of students.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, communicating clearly about curriculum intent and student progress.
- Contribute to school improvement initiatives and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject with PGCE / QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum, preferably in an international setting.
- Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student wellbeing.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within a school setting.
- Experience teaching up to GCSE and A Level Mathematics.
- Familiarity with AI-driven learning and technology-enhanced teaching methods.
