Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the maths faculty, ensuring consistent high standards of teaching and learning.
- Support and mentor colleagues, sharing best practices and promoting professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, providing constructive feedback.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align maths department goals with the school's strategic vision.
- Develop and implement a clear curriculum pathway across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the maths department.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
- Ensure the effective use of resources and technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
- Strong track record in teaching and leading maths at secondary level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staff training.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with maths education research and innovative teaching methods.
- Experience with Ofsted inspections or school improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of instructional coaching and teacher training programs.
- Experience in leading a department through periods of growth and development.
