The Opportunity:
As the Head of Maths and Computing Faculty, you will lead and inspire a team of dedicated educators, shaping the academic direction of two key subjects. This role is ideal for an experienced and visionary leader who is passionate about driving high standards in teaching and learning, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Maths and Computing Faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student achievement and engagement in Mathematics and Computing.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the school’s academic vision and strategic priorities.
- Support and mentor staff within the faculty, providing professional development opportunities and guidance.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the faculty, using data to inform decisions and drive improvement.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated curriculum.
- Represent the faculty in meetings, inspections, and external events.
- Promote the school’s Catholic ethos and values within the faculty and across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Computing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
- A commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a faculty or department in a large school or sixth form college.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of teachers across multiple key stages.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in Mathematics and Computing education.
- Experience in leading successful staff development initiatives.
