Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Humanities department to ensure outstanding teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
- Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and high academic standards.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Represent the department at school and external events.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Head of Department in a secondary school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Humanities subjects and curriculum development.
- Experience in driving academic improvement and student achievement.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Leadership experience within a large school environment.
- Experience with curriculum innovation and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes.
