The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring History Teacher to join a successful department and contribute to the academic success of students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and to work within a supportive and experienced team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage students and promote deep learning.
  • Develop and implement a challenging and progressive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental outcomes.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the History curriculum.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and technology in teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
  • Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and current educational standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching History at A-level.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Leadership experience or willingness to take on departmental responsibilities.
