The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and inspiring History Teacher to join a successful department and contribute to the academic success of students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and to work within a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons that engage students and promote deep learning.
- Develop and implement a challenging and progressive curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and improve departmental outcomes.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the History curriculum.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and technology in teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and current educational standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching History at A-level.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiation.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Leadership experience or willingness to take on departmental responsibilities.
