The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Head of Maths to lead a successful department and inspire pupils to achieve their highest potential. This role offers the opportunity to shape the curriculum, raise academic achievement, and support the professional development of colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of high-achieving Maths specialists.
- Deliver consistently outstanding teaching and share best practices with colleagues.
- Develop and implement new initiatives to improve pupil outcomes and progress.
- Monitor and report on departmental performance to ensure academic targets are met.
- Track pupil progress and provide targeted support to ensure all students achieve their potential.
- Contribute to the strategic development of the Maths department.
- Promote the value of Maths within the school and wider community.
- Support the school’s ethos and values through active participation in Academy life.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Maths teacher and leader of department.
- Strong track record in raising pupil achievement and progress.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development and departmental management.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department within a multi-academy trust.
- Knowledge of current Maths teaching methodologies and initiatives.
- Experience in professional development and staff training.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £61,534–£66,368.
