The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic school as a PE Curriculum Leader to shape the future of physical education and health & social care. This role offers the chance to lead curriculum development, drive improvement, and inspire students through high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to develop and implement a high-quality PE and Health & Social Care curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to raise achievement and ensure inclusive learning.
  • Lead curriculum design and delivery across all year groups and qualifications.
  • Support and develop teaching staff to maintain consistently strong practice.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align curriculum goals with school objectives.
  • Manage and evaluate the quality of education and outcomes for BTEC PE and Health & Social Care courses.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
  • Work closely with the Senior and Middle Leadership Teams to ensure alignment with school-wide priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of PE and Health & Social Care curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion and raising student achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or middle leadership role.
  • Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and course delivery.
  • Experience with data analysis and using performance data to drive improvement.
  • Background in a school that has undergone recent improvement or transformation.
  • Passion for PE and Health & Social Care with a track record of inspiring students.
