The Opportunity:

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, staff, and parents, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment. This role is essential in maintaining the school’s high standards and safeguarding procedures, while providing efficient administrative support to the academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all incoming communications and ensure prompt and professional responses.
  • Greet and assist all visitors, ensuring strict safeguarding compliance through accurate sign-in procedures.
  • Oversee the opening, distribution, and franking of all posts and parcels.
  • Provide radio contact for the Senior Leadership Team and assist with general administrative tasks.
  • Support the SLT or Principal's PA with typing and other administrative duties as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Ensure the reception area is well-organized and maintained to a high standard.
  • Assist with any additional duties as required to support the smooth running of the academy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Established experience in a reception or customer service environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
  • Proficiency in standard ICT packages, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet time-sensitive priorities.

Preferred

  • Experience in an educational setting or with working in schools.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Experience with administrative software or systems used in schools.
  • Previous experience in a school reception or front-of-house role.
