The Opportunity:

As the Head of Modern Languages, you will lead and develop a dynamic and academically rigorous department, with a focus on preparing students for Common Entrance, Scholarship, and Senior School entrance exams. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire students and shape the future of language learning at the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Modern Languages department to ensure academic excellence and student engagement.
  • Deliver a high-quality curriculum, with French as the core language and the potential to introduce additional languages.
  • Support students in preparing for Common Entrance, Scholarship, and Senior School entrance exams.
  • Promote a culture of continuous professional development among teaching staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure consistent academic outcomes.
  • Represent the department in school-wide meetings and events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Modern Languages, particularly French.
  • Experience in preparing students for Common Entrance and Senior School entrance exams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing a department or leading a team.
  • Familiarity with international curricula or bilingual education.
  • Experience with teaching additional languages such as Spanish, German, or Mandarin.
