The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher and Head of Statistics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the maths curriculum with a focus on statistics. You will lead the development of resources and schemes of work, and support colleagues in improving teaching and learning across Key Stages 4 and 5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality maths lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
- Lead the development of statistics resources and schemes of work for Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Support the Head of Maths in curriculum planning and assessment strategies.
- Monitor student progress using data to inform teaching and learning.
- Contribute to departmental leadership, including staff development and student behaviour management.
- Promote the school’s ethos and commitment to high standards across the department.
- Engage with the wider school community and support initiatives that enhance student achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in maths education.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teaching resources in statistics.
- Experience in curriculum planning and assessment.
- Commitment to raising student achievement and promoting high standards.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or subject area.
- Familiarity with data analysis and its application in teaching.
- Experience in staff development and training.
- Background in pastoral care or student behaviour management.
