Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Music and Performing Arts department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Deliver a curriculum that fosters creativity, performance, and technical skill.
  • Manage and support a team of music and performing arts staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring achievement and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate arts into the broader curriculum.
  • Organise and oversee extracurricular activities, performances, and events.
  • Promote the school’s vision and values through the arts.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and Ofsted standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music and performing arts.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a department.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and high standards.
  • Resilience and ability to implement school policies effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Background in performing arts or music education.
  • Experience with CPD and professional development.
  • Leadership experience in an educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in raising student achievement and engagement.
