Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Music and Performing Arts department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
- Deliver a curriculum that fosters creativity, performance, and technical skill.
- Manage and support a team of music and performing arts staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring achievement and engagement.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate arts into the broader curriculum.
- Organise and oversee extracurricular activities, performances, and events.
- Promote the school’s vision and values through the arts.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and Ofsted standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music and performing arts.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a department.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and high standards.
- Resilience and ability to implement school policies effectively.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Background in performing arts or music education.
- Experience with CPD and professional development.
- Leadership experience in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated success in raising student achievement and engagement.
