The Opportunity:
As a SENCo Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the school’s SEN policy, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the school’s SEN policy and provision.
- Coordinate specific support for students with special educational needs or a disability.
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Establish high expectations for staff and students, setting challenging targets for achievement.
- Ensure systems and procedures are in place for the consistent progression of all students.
- Promote engaging and motivating teaching and learning approaches.
- Support professional development through training and practical guidance.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised educational degree, such as a Bachelor's in Education or an equivalent qualification.
- A certified teaching qualification such as a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate.
- Extensive experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
- Experience teaching IGCSE, AS/A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB).
- Strong subject knowledge and experience in SEN coordination.
Preferred
- A National Award for SEN Coordination or equivalent qualification.
