The Opportunity:
As a PE Lead Teacher, you will lead and inspire students through innovative and inclusive physical education programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about promoting active lifestyles and supporting students with diverse needs in a dynamic and supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering engaging and differentiated PE lessons tailored to individual student needs.
- Supporting students’ physical development through structured, safe, and inclusive environments.
- Collaborating with teaching assistants, clinical teams, and families to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress, including therapeutic and EHCP goals.
- Promoting positive behavior through proactive and relationship-based strategies.
- Maintaining and managing PE equipment to ensure safe and effective practice.
- Encouraging emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal development through physical activity.
- Building and maintaining community partnerships to enhance student experiences beyond the classroom.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally in a specialist setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Calm, compassionate, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
Preferred
- Understanding of the PE curriculum and health and safety standards.
- Experience using visual supports and sensory-aware teaching strategies.
