Summary:

Head of PE Faculty required for August 2026 at a leading British curriculum school.

The Opportunity:

As Head of PE Faculty, you will lead and inspire the PE department, shaping the physical education experience for students across all year groups. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student development and school life, with a focus on holistic growth and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE Faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and inclusive PE curriculum, aligned with the school’s educational vision.
  • Support and mentor PE staff, fostering professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance student engagement and achievement in physical education and beyond.
  • Promote a culture of wellbeing, encouraging students to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of PE facilities and resources.
  • Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular programme and student pastoral care.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching and support strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good honours degree and QTS or PGCE teaching qualification.
  • Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, preferably in a UK school.
  • Proven ability to teach PE at all key stages, including post-16 (A Level and BTEC).
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in faculty leadership.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with the British curriculum and international education standards.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider school community and extra-curricular activities.
