The Opportunity:
As the Head of PE, you will lead and inspire a successful Physical Education Team, delivering creative and engaging lessons that motivate students and foster a lifelong passion for learning through PE. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the PE department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and innovative PE curriculum that aligns with the school’s vision and values.
- Support and mentor PE staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential in PE.
- Coordinate extracurricular activities and sporting events to promote physical health and school spirit.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate PE with broader school initiatives and student well-being.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of all PE facilities and equipment.
- Represent the PE department at school meetings and events, promoting the value of PE within the wider school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in leading a PE department.
- Proven track record in delivering high-quality PE lessons and student engagement.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment in PE.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in PE education.
- Experience in coaching or managing sports teams.
- Familiarity with inclusive PE practices and student well-being initiatives.
