Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the English curriculum across all key stages, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
• Inspire and motivate staff and students to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
• Implement innovative approaches to learning and teaching, including the use of new technologies.
• Support the development of the school’s ethos and culture through leadership and collaboration.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high standards of achievement in GCSE and A Level English.
• Contribute to the professional development of teaching staff through mentoring and training.
• Work closely with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement across the school.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in teaching English up to A Level.
• Demonstrated success in achieving high examination results in GCSE and A Level English.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• In-depth knowledge of the current curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments in English.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

• Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
• Familiarity with the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
