The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly motivated Curriculum Leader English to lead an established team and drive excellence in teaching and learning. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of English education and inspire both students and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the English curriculum across all key stages, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
- Inspire and motivate staff and students to achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
- Implement innovative approaches to learning and teaching, including the use of new technologies.
- Support the development of the school’s ethos and culture through leadership and collaboration.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring high standards of achievement in GCSE and A Level English.
- Contribute to the professional development of teaching staff through mentoring and training.
- Work closely with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement across the school.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with colleagues across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching English up to A Level.
- Demonstrated success in achieving high examination results in GCSE and A Level English.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- In-depth knowledge of the current curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments in English.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Familiarity with the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience in staff development and training.
- A passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on students’ lives.
