We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join a dynamic and well-resourced department. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality science education and supporting the school’s vision for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage, enthuse, and motivate students to excel academically in science
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the 11–16 curriculum up to GCSE
  • Teach across the full age range of pupils from year 7 to year 11
  • Collaborate with colleagues through lesson observation, mentoring, and sharing of good practice
  • Contribute to the efficient running of the department, including marking, setting exams, and attending meetings
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in accordance with school policies
  • Support the school’s aims and objectives for teaching and learning
  • Maintain excellent classroom management and communication with students, parents, and staff

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the 11–16 science curriculum up to GCSE
  • Good degree in a directly related subject
  • Awareness of safeguarding requirements and good practice
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Strong IT literacy
  • Ability to deliver inspirational lessons to a range of ages and abilities

Preferred

  • Experience with STEAM activities or extracurricular science initiatives
  • Experience in collaborative teaching and mentoring
  • Previous experience in a similar school environment
