Summary:

Head of PSHE sought to lead and develop a high-quality PSHE programme at a school.

The Opportunity:

As Head of PSHE, you will lead and develop a high-quality programme of personal, social, health and economic education across the school. This is a pivotal role in shaping the well-being and development of students, with a strong focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of a comprehensive PSHE curriculum across all year groups.
  • Deliver high-quality PSHE lessons and ensure that they align with the school’s educational philosophy and values.
  • Collaborate with staff to integrate PSHE into broader school activities and pastoral care.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in PSHE, ensuring that learning outcomes are met.
  • Provide professional development and support to teaching staff in PSHE delivery.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure PSHE contributes to the school’s overall mission and values.
  • Promote student well-being and personal development through PSHE initiatives and events.
  • Ensure all PSHE activities are inclusive, reflective of the school’s diverse community, and aligned with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading and developing PSHE programmes in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of PSHE curriculum and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge.

Preferred

  • Experience in a co-educational or preparatory school environment.
  • Background in pastoral care or student well-being.
  • Experience with curriculum development and training of staff.
